I drove 48 minutes to try this restaurant after someone recommended it to me and unfortunately I was really disappointed. The shrimp was dry the beef and broccoli was not good at all the broccoli was soggy and the beef had a strange almost dissolving texture. The chicken was also overcooked. The egg rolls and crab rangoons were actually really good and the rice and chow mein were fine so not everything was bad. But the main dishes were disappointing enough that I honestly wouldn’t make the drive or spend my money here again. Maybe I caught them on an off day but based on my experience **never again for me.**

I was told about this place by a coworker and I went yesterday after work. Unfortunately, the food disappointed me a lot. I had the Lo Mein, Sesame Chicken, and Orange Chicken. The Orange Chicken may have been listed as spicy, but there was no spice at all. It was very bland. The Sesame Chicken didn't have much difference in taste from it - one had a little more orange taste than the other, but that was about it - and both chicken types were a bit dry, in spite of the amount of sauce on them. At least the Lo Mein was hot. But sorry, I'm probably not going to come back.

I went into China Star Express& Grill with no expectations at all. I was hungry and diabetic so I was just looking to fill my belly and get back on the road. The place was very clean and not busy. The food is served cafeteria-style and looked very fresh! I was very surprised that you could choose to pass on the rice or noodles and get steamed vegetables instead! My diabetes thanks you!! I got the sautéed pork, green beans, an egg roll, and a bottled drink for a very reasonable price! I will definitely keep China Star in the rotation!

I know this isn’t a secret to anyone in East Texas, but I realized I’ve never done a review for one of my favorite spots to get some amazing Chinese food in Tyler. The place I’m referring to is Chinastar Express & Grill on the corner of the loop and 31 west. IFYKYK and if you don’t, I’m bout to learn you something lol. The food is always hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. $10.59 for a 2 item combo plate is insane!!! Especially when you realize how much food is included. The plates pictured below are all 2 item combos. They also have some really good eggrolls. My favorite is the chicken and shrimp with the peppers in it. It’s not spicy at all and the flavor is out of this world. Their lo-mein is easily some of my favorite. Go see for yourself!!!

I don't normally give reviews but I'm glad I don't pay any attention to those posting reviews with no reasons why they gave 1 star so I just ignore those posts! I ordered pans of food for a birthday party, orange/Teri/mushroom chicken, vegetable fried rice, vegetable rolls, crab Rangoon, egg foo young and it was DELICIOUS‼️‼️ The flavors were ONO and everyone wanted to know where I got this food from. The pans were FULL, the order was ready on time and the owner made special arrangements so we could pick it up early. We ate there a couple of days before my big order, the people are friendly and the restaurant is clean. This is my new place to go to for Chinese food!!! LOVE THIS PLACE!!!
